Capture Life

Capture Life

Happy March!  This month our word of the month here at TDP is CAPTURE.  Very few words completely describe scrapbooking more than this word.  Quite simply it means everything to us – to Capture Memories, Capture Stories, Capture Moments, etc.  For me, as long as I am capturing what is most important to me and my family in a creative way, I am happy.  What about you?  What does this word mean to you?

Browsing around the web, I found some fun inspiration images to kick-start your thoughts about the word CAPTURE

Happy February!  We interrupt this message to announce a fun-filled month of amazing deals!  That’s right – Pennysaver is back!!!  Every Tuesday and Friday, throughout the month of February, our amazing Designers will have new products on sale for $1!!!!!  This is the perfect time to grab lots of new goodies and jump in on our monthly challenges!

For February our word of the month here at TDP is going to be CHERISH.  This word is an important one for me personally as it makes me stop and think about what is most important in my own little world – to not take anything for granted and to be thankful for all that I have.  How about you?  Does it do the same for you?

Browsing around the web, I found some fun inspiration images to kick-start your thoughts about the word CHERISH

Renew Your Life

Happy New Year! Here at The Digital Press, we can hardly believe it’s 2016. Seriously, 2015 flew by for me — was it that way for you, as well?

Now that it is January, most people look into setting resolutions or goals for themselves, for their families, and maybe for their jobs or hobbies. For me, January is a month of renewal. Taking down the Holiday decorations starts it all off, as I look around and assess what I can remove (in the way of home decor) to create a neater & more streamlined space. Then I also look at other areas of my life to see what I can do a bit differently to change things up and keep them fresh.

Therefore, in January 2016 our word of the month here at TDP is going to be RENEW. This word can mean a myriad of things: maybe you are renewing an old passion, or maybe you are renewing your life through resolutions, or maybe you are renewing your scrap stash… there are many ways you can view the word RENEW.

Browsing around the web, I found some fun inspiration images to kick-start your thoughts on renewal…

Simplify Your Life & an Introduction to the 12 Days of December

Simplify

Welcome to December, another fun-filled month at The Digital Press! Before you know it, we will be ringing in the New Year.  🙂  This year has truly flown by!

Right now, however, we interrupt your regularly-scheduled introduction of our “word of the month” to announce our new blog series — 12 Days of December.  For the next 12 days, the Digital Press’s creative team will be filling the blog with fun seasonal posts every single day! Of course, we will still throw in some challenges in on our normal challenge days, as well.  😉  For all of the other days, though, we will be showing you great ways to “make it through the holiday season alive,” and hopefully in a fun and creative way! We hope you’ll enjoy this series as much as we’ve enjoyed compiling it!

Here’s a quick look at the schedule for the 12 Days series…

Meanwhile, during the month of December our word will be SIMPLIFY. I know that this is something that I, myself, struggle with. Each year, I swear the holidays get more and more crazy. So, along with the rest of the team here at TDP, we encourage you to SIMPLIFY your life this holiday season. We hope to be able to help you do so throughout the month, if you follow along!

In thinking about simplifying things… here is some fun inspiration I found on Pinterest:

Yes, December is a crazy chaotic time of year, and also often a crazy time of “acquiring more and more.” Please join us in letting go of the chaos and SIMPLIFY the season. Create minimalist layouts, use simple tricks to save time, and maybe de-clutter your stash!

Each month, we like to encourage you to step out of the box at times with our challenges. Below are the list of upcoming challenges for the month of December that focus on our theme of SIMPLIFY. For more information about our challenge system please read this post in our forums.

Live in Harmony

Welcome to November, a fun-filled month at The Digital Press! (Wait, it’s November already???)  This month, our one little word is HARMONY.

Could this word be more perfect for this month?  In the U.S., this is certainly a very busy month as it kickstarts the Holiday season.  On top of that, we have DSD AND most importantly, The Digital Press turns 1!!!  Can you believe that we are already approaching our first birthday!?  Seriously – time flies when you’re having fun.  With all of that excitement, we feel that finding harmony is all the more important.

Harmony doesn’t have to only mean finding peace due to holidays – although this would be nice.  It could also mean finding harmony, balance, peace with your family, relationships, designs, etc.  The list could go on and on.

Here is some inspiration I found on Pinterest:

As you can see, the word Harmony can evoke lots of inspiration for your own memory keeping.  I myself cannot wait to implement it this month for my own projects (and life).

Each month, we like to encourage you to step out of the box at times with our challenges. Below are the list of upcoming challenges for the month that focus on Harmony. For more information about our challenge system please read this post in our forums.

Savoring Life

oct-savor-header

Welcome to another new month at The Digital Press!  We are pleased to reveal that our word of the month for October is *drumroll* …SAVOR.

When I think of the word savor, my current “dieting” mind goes straight to YUMMY FALL GOODIES (pumpkin EVERYTHING — spices, apples, warm delicious food…etc)! As I take my stomach out of the equation, however, I realize that we not only savor food… but moments and memories in our lives, as well. October is the perfect month to savor everything — food & drink, the beauty of fall, the warmth of a cup of tea, the moment our children pick an apple off a tree or decorate a pumpkin… perhaps even that moment when your favorite team wins a game!

Here is a bit of inspiration I found on Pinterest:

In the spirit of savoring this memory-keeping hobby and the time that goes into it (and perhaps to achieve a bit of simplification in all of our lives), we have re-worked our challenge system and have decided to unveil and implement it a month early (it was originally going to take place in November to coincide with the site’s first birthday)!  We are so excited to introduce to you our new challenge schedule and point system.  We really think you are going to love it!

All About TDP’s New Challenge System and Schedule

Since the time that challenges were first implemented at TDP after the site opened in November 2014, we’ve followed a Mon-Wed-Fri schedule… in which informational blog posts that highlighted our “word of the month” were attached to challenges found in the forum.

Beginning in October 2015 and beyond, we’ll be following the schedule you see below, instead, which will hopefully “open up some space” for new and fun challenge opportunities — things such as (a) special events like speed scraps (and similar), (b) hybrid challenges that are connected to our hybrid tutorials, and (c) a new opportunity to earn points by posting your TDP creations on social media!

The New Blog/Challenge Schedule

  • Tutorial Tuesday will still be a thing… a weekly event in which a blog post offers up new and fun tips and tricks!
  • Friday will be the day for our weekly “word of the month” post on the blog… and a corresponding challenge will also appear in the forum (each week, completing the challenge will be worth 2 points).
  • Saturday will be home to a bi-weekly (1st and 3rd Sat of each month) hybrid post on the blog… accompanied by a corresponding challenge in the forum (completion of each one will be worth 3 points).
  • Twice a month (dates TBA each month), we’ll host special challenge events… think speed scraps… live chats… etc. (and completion of each will be worth 2 points).
  • …also new — you will be able to earn extra challenge points by posting your gorgeous creations to social media* in October and beyond!

You can read about all of the changes in the new Challenge Info thread!

With that new schedule in place, here is a handy image you can save to your computer, featuring our lineup for October (made by the ever-talented Alina from the TDP creative team, using the brand new store collab Autumn Whimsy that you can purchase for only $4 for the first 4 days of the month)!

We look forward to seeing you around TDP throughout the month of October!
